Building a place to learn.
Our first major mission began under The Zappie Foundation: raising £25,000 to help create safe, secure educational facilities for children in Africa.
That mission now continues as part of The Boreal Foundation. We have made the first steps. There is much further to go.

This campaign began under The Zappie Foundation and continues as part of the next chapter of our work through The Boreal Foundation.
The challenge
In parts of Cameroon, the barrier to education is not ambition. It is infrastructure.
Children attend lessons in buildings that are unsafe, unfinished or simply too small for the number of pupils who want to be there. Where facilities are inadequate, attendance falls, teaching becomes harder to sustain and progress is lost.
Our first commitment, made under The Zappie Foundation, was to help change that in one place, properly.
What we're trying to achieve
We are raising £25,000 towards the creation of safe, secure educational facilities for children in Cameroon.
The intention is a physical, finishable piece of work: a learning environment that exists after the fundraising ends, is used every day, and can be photographed, visited and understood.
We would rather complete one project well than distribute small amounts thinly across many.
Why Cameroon
The project came to us through people we know and trust, with a clear local need and a clear local partner.
Cameroon is where our first commitment was made. It is a starting point, not a boundary — the Foundation's remit is worldwide.

Project One continues under The Boreal Foundation
The commitment made under The Zappie Foundation carries forward unchanged. Fundraising continues towards the £25,000 target, with £3,435 raised so far through 87 individual donations.
May 2025
Coupe de Zap returns
The second charity football tournament raised approximately £1,100 towards the project.
May 2024
First tournament raises more than £1,500
The inaugural Coupe de Zap became the Foundation's first significant fundraising event.
